IUI

Intrauterine insemination service

Dr. Ashraf Sabry uses latest worldwide medical standards and state of the art instruments to get fast and accurate results with highest success rates.

It is a technique used for male problems (erection problems, moderately low count or motility of sperms) or sperm antibodies or unexplained infertility. Intra uterine injection of sperms after preparing them with special material that increases their motility. They are injected by a special catheter at ovulation time in the uterus which can be natural or drug induced.

Testicular Biobsy

Testicular Biopsy Service

Dr. Ashraf Sabry uses latest worldwide medical standards and state of the art instruments to get fast and accurate results with highest success rates.

In certain conditions the semen analysis shows that it contains zero sperms a condition called azoospermia, this can be either functional meaning that the testes has a problem to produce sperm or obstruction meaning that the testes can produce sperm but there is a problem with ducts that carry the sperms outside.

We perform a safe operation which allows taking a biopsy from the testes itself through the scrotum either by a fine needle through the scrotal skin and into the testes or by opening the scrotal skin and exposing the testes and taking small biopsies from it.  This allows us to search for sperm and also to diagnose possible disease which resulted in azoospermia.

Sperm and Embryo Vitrification

Embryo & Sperm Vitrification

Dr. Ashraf Sabry uses latest worldwide medical standards and state of the art instruments to get fast and accurate results with highest success rates.

In some cases storing of sperm or embryos is needed. For sperm it happens when the male will not be available a time of IVF/ICSI operation or the male has undergone a testicular biopsy and the sperms found will be stored for future use in IVF/ICSI or the male is going for cancer treatment which might destroy testicular tissue.

For embryos sometimes there are situation when there many embryos produced and after replacing some of them in a cycle the ones left are stored for another cycle. Cryopreservation is also useful if anything cancels the embryo transfer part like inability to arrive at time on embryo transfer day or the woman has a weak endometrium or has hyper stimulation.

The embryos are mixed with a cryopreservent that protects the embryo and then the embryo is vitrified i.e. frozen to a degree lower than 15 thousand under zero in few seconds (on the contrary to the conventional cryopreservation where it took longer time for embryos to freeze allowing ice crystals to form inside them which destroys them ). Thawing and replacing the embryos involves defrosting the embryos and removing the cryopreservent material then replacing the embryos inside the uterus.

Embryo Laser Assisted Hatching

Laser assisted hatching service

Dr. Ashraf Sabry uses latest worldwide medical standards and state of the art instruments to get fast and accurate results with highest success rates.

The embryo is surrounded by a thin shell which breaks and the cells come out to be implanted in the uterus. Assisted hatching assists the breaking of this shell using laser instruments and improves implantation rates and reduces failure of IVF / ICSI.

Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy

Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy service

Performing different types of reproductive surgeries has never been safer or easier than now using the science of laparoscopies or hysteroscopy.

Using a camera installed on a special tube it can be inserted either through the abdomen or the uterus together with special surgical instruments, a whole diagnosis and treatment plan can be performed. The camera transfers the image to a monitor allowing the doctor to see inside live with colors as if doing an open surgery. Also using the special instruments a whole microscopic surgery can be performed safely.

Endoscopies has an advantage over normal open surgeries that there is minimal hospital stay , minimal home stay ,  minimal blood lost and it also provides a cosmetic appearance as there is no wide incisions made and it prevents adhesions formation.

Laparoscopies in addition to their diagnostic abilities in knowing the patency of the tubes and adhesion and endometriosis it can remove fibroids which are outside the uterus body (sub serous) or inside the uterus muscle (intramural). It can remove ovarian cysts or endometriomas ( chocolate cyst) and cauterize polycystic ovaries. It can also cut adhesions and try to free a blocked tube or block a tube with hydrosalpinx. And they can also be used to remove endometriosis patches.

Hysteroscopy in addition to their diagnostic abilities to know any intrauterine lesions they can remove fibroids projecting inside the uterine cavity (sub mucous) , it can also correct any abnormality like uterus septum and also cut adhesions (asherman’s syndrome).

Blastocyst Transfer

Blastocyst Transfer Service

Dr. Ashraf Sabry uses latest worldwide medical standards and state of the art instruments to get fast and accurate results with highest success rates.

A Blastocyst is an embryo that is left in special culturing media till the fifth or sixth day. After that it is transferred to the uterine cavity. The concept is that the embryo which reaches the 5th day safely has more chances of implantation in the uterus.

Pre Implantation Genetic Diagnosis PGD

Pre Implantation Genetic Diagnosis

What is Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis?

It is a method to check for genetic problems in the embryos before transferring them to the uterus. It is done by extracting a cell from the embryo with special instruments and then studying these cells.

How is Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis done?

  • The woman is thoroughly investigation for ICSI preparation and to eliminate any known causes for failure
  • An ovarian stimulation protocol is custom tailored for her and started
  • Her follicle number and size and uterine lining is monitored by ultrasound and hormone testing
  • When follicles and uterine lining reach adequate size another medicine is added to induce ovulation
  • At a specific time in the hospital her follicles will be aspirated using a special needle installed on the vaginal ultrasound.
  • The eggs are then fertilized with the male sperm and left in a special incubator which has the same atmosphere as the inside of a uterus and they are checked at a specific timetable to monitor the division of the cells.
  • At a specific time the shell around the developing embryo is opened by laser machines and a professional specialist takes out a cell without harming the rest of the embryo.
  • This cell is then studied for its genetic characteristics which involves knowing the genetic diseases that it carries.
  • At a specific time embryos needed are replaced inside the uterus using special catheters and under supervision of ultrasound while the other embryos are cryopreserved or disregarded.
  • The female is then asked to perform a pregnancy test after 14 days to know the results of her operation.

Gender Selection

Gender Selection Service

What is Gender Selection?

It is done by extracting a cell from the embryo with special instruments and then studying these cells. The genetic study  inform us of the sex of the embryos allowing us to replace the sex that is only needed helping people to balance their families.

How is Gender Selection done?

  • The woman is thoroughly investigation for ICSI preparation and to eliminate any known causes for failure

IVF-ICSI

IVF - ICSI Service

What is IVF-ICSI?

This technology is reserved for people who have problems meeting the sperm and ovum naturally e.g. severe reduction in the sperm count and quality or severe erectile problems, female blocked tubes or hormonal problems not allowing an egg to come out each month.

How is IVF-ICSI done?

  • The woman is thoroughly investigation for ICSI preparation and to eliminate any known causes for failure
  • An ovarian stimulation protocol is custom tailored for her and started
